Never underestimate the enthusiasm of racing game fans. Armed with Forza Motorsports 4's powerful livery editor tool V8 Supercars fans have taken to the 12-month-old racer to create some of the special one-off designs hitting Mount Panorama this weekend.
Several leading teams have adopted retro-look liveries as part of the celebrations marking the 50th year of the Bathurst 1000.
Dick Johnson Racing has redecorated one of its Fords in the legendary Tru Blu livery that featured on Dick Johnson's own famous XD Falcon in 1980 and 1981.
FPR has decked out two of its cars in the iconic red-and-blue stripes of the XC Falcons of Allan Moffat and Colin Bond in their historic 1977 1-2 finish. The third of the FPR cars is wearing the dark green paint scheme of Fred Gibson's 1967-winning XR Falcon GT.
Craig Lowndes' Triple Eight car has been inspired by the classic red-and-white colour scheme of the late Peter Brock, nine-times Bathurst winner and Australian racing legend, specifically the Commodores he nabbed Bathurst wins in from 1982 to 1984.
These designs are available on the Forza Motorsports 4 Storefront now and can be applied to a variety of the V8 Supercars featured in the game.
