Disney has revealed that Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two will be available for the Wii U at launch in the UK and America.

While we already knew that the game would appear as one of 23 games on Nintendo's console when it launches in America on November 18, Disney has now confirmed that the game will be available when the Wii U launches in the UK on November 30.

This now brings the number of Wii U launch day titles available in the UK to 12, and it remains to be seen if more will be announced as we move closer to the console's release.

Captain America 2 Will Shoot in Cleveland

While Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 branched out to North Carolina and England (respectively), Captain America 2 will hang back and set up camp in Ohio where some of Marvel's The Avengers was shot.

According to Coming Soon (via the Greater Cleveland Film Commission), Joe and Anthony Russo's Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be shooting about 40 percent of its footage in Cleveland. That's the same city Joss Whedon used as a double for most of the New York final battle sequence in Avengers, which suggests that Cap 2 will likely also take place (at least partially) in NYC. Of course, the rest of production will probably relocate to Marvel's sound stages in California.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier stars Chris Evans, and is scheduled to begin filming in February.

LittleBigPlanet Vita’s Street Date Broken

Tweets are currently raging around the ‘net concerning LittleBigPlanet Vita, and how its release date – September 25 in North America – has apparently been moved up. Whether or not this move has been authorized by Sony remains to be seen, but the game is currently in the hands of players well ahead of its release date.

On Twitter, users like MyVitaFeed have pictures of the game in their possession. Likewise, NKilburne has also posted a picture of his Vita’s screen playing the game. IGN reader Vargeth has also provided photographic proof. These copies were apparently purchased from various GameStop outlets.

We’ve also contacted two Bay Area GameStop stores inquiring about the game’s availability. One store said that they had no copies, but the other store verified that they have two copies left. It's unclear if the street date has been broken outside of North America, or by any other retailer domestically.

We reviewed LittleBigPlanet PS Vita earlier this week, and we loved it. Those looking for a new Vita game to play should certainly consider it.

If you’re looking for something to play on your PlayStation Vita, you may be pleased to learn that Dokuro has been slated for an October release in North America. Its release window in other territories is still unknown.

According to the PlayStation Blog -- and more notably a post from developer Antonio Cara – “With a captivating chalk-drawn setting and adorable fairytale themes, Dokuro provides a unique platform-puzzle experience that will flex your mind and heart!” The game revolves around a character named Dokuro who’s on a quest to save a “beautiful princess” from a foe known only as Dark Lord.

The thing is, this gorgeous princess isn’t too sharp, and “pays no mind to imminent danger… automatically [moving] forward until she reaches an obstacle she cannot cross.” As such, “Dokuro’s main goal is to get the Princess from point A to point B. Naturally, the path is always complicated by traps, pitfalls, and the occasional flying demon. These puzzles will take all the moxie and gumption you can muster as you travel through floors of ever-increasing complexity.”

Keep an eye out on IGN this October for a full review.

For New York Times, 9/11 anniversary not fit for front page

For The New York Times, the 11th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks was not news fit to print – at least not on the front page.

America’s “paper of record," headquartered just three miles north of Ground Zero, dramatically scaled back its coverage of the latest anniversary of the attacks, in which terrorist flew planes into the Twin Towers, killing thousands. In typical Times fashion, the decision sparked hand-wringing and introspection among the Old Gray Lady’s top brass.

“In subsequent years, we do have to mark these moments, but it will be in a more modest way.”

- Carolyn Ryan, New York Times metropolitan editor

“Some anniversaries offer a natural reflection point,” Metropolitan Editor Carolyn Ryan told Margaret Sullivan, the paper’s public editor, an on-the-payroll watchdog. “Last year’s 10th anniversary of 9/11 surely fit that category. “In subsequent years, we do have to mark these moments, but it will be in a more modest way.”

Sullivan wondered if it was enough. She noted that on the 10th anniversary of one of America’s darkest days, the Times published “an ambitious special section, along with major stories on the days leading up to the anniversary.”

But what Sullivan dubbed “anniversary journalism” often finds little to cover outside of related local events, she said.

“There isn’t always much to say that is original,” Sullivan wrote.

The Times did manage to run stories about infighting among politicians regarding development at Ground Zero and, on Sept. 10, an investigative report laying some of the blame on intelligence-gathering failures by the Bush administration.

Brent Bozell, president of the Media Research Center, said the Times owed more to its readers, especially those in its hometown.

“It’s disgraceful on two levels," Bozell said. "First, as a national issue, this being the single deadliest attack on America since Pearl Harbor. And, secondly, as a local issue. This is, after all, The New York Times, not the Honolulu Times.”

The Times' website did feature a 9/11 story on the homepage Tuesday morning, and the site was updated with remembrance stories and coverage of the day prominently displayed.

Other New York metro area pages such as the New York Daily News, Long Island-based Newsday, and the Newark Star-Ledger featured front page coverage of the anniversary. The New York Post did not carry a 9/11 story on its front page, though tabloids typically can only feature one story on the front page, while the Times will carry a minimum of five.

The lack of coverage could be attributed to less emphasis on local news from New York City.

“New York is still part of our DNA and important to the soul of the publication, but the actual metro area has, over time, been not the main part of our print readership. And online it’s more of an international and national audience,” Times managing editor Jill Abramson said during an appearance in August on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program.

Readers expressed disappointment with the editorial choice on the message board of Sullivan’s online column.

“’The amount of journalism, however, must. 'MUST?' I am sorry, but who are you to say what 'must' and 'mustn't' with regard to this tragedy?,” said one person commenting from London.

“I'm not sure if, as public editor, you are entrusted with the care and feeding of the historical element of the Times, but must say that I think it's an error to completely omit any mention of 9/11 from the front page today,” wrote another person from California.

“If the city of New York is, as Jill Abramson said, part of the Times' DNA, it's necessary to relate to the people of the city who will never get over this anniversary. They still constitute a hefty majority and consequently one hopes a significant part of your readership. I am a newsperson and a transplanted New Yorker, and 9/11, 11 years on, still merits Page One of the Times to me. Even if it were two grafs and a jump.”

US credit rating under fire again, Moody's warns lawmakers on debt

America's credit rating is once again at risk.

Moody's Investors Service said Tuesday that it would probably cut its triple-A rating on U.S. government debt by a notch unless congressional leaders can strike a budget deal in the coming months to bring down the deficit.

"If those negotiations lead to specific policies that produce a stabilization and then downward trend in the ratio of federal debt to GDP over the medium term, the rating will likely be affirmed," Moody's said in a press release Tuesday. "If those negotiations fail to produce such policies, however, Moody's would expect to lower the rating, probably to Aa1."

The threat comes after one of the other big three ratings firms, Standard & Poor's, downgraded the U.S. last year following the brawl in Washington over the debt ceiling.

The country is once again headed for a debt-ceiling showdown, with Moody's predicting the country will run up against the ceiling "around the end of this year." Any potential downgrade is not likely until at least next year.

House Speaker John Boehner, reacting to the latest warning, called on Congress to take major steps to reform the tax code, cut spending and overhaul entitlements.

"Today's warning by Moody's underscores the point we have been making all year: the threat to American jobs comes not from action on our debt, but from inaction on our debt," he said.

Lawmakers, though, are unlikely to do much until after the November election, when the balance of power in Washington is more clear.

Moody's said the firm will wait for a budget deal -- or the collapse of one -- before determining the U.S. credit rating.

The big wild card in the near-term concerns the so-called "fiscal cliff" -- the slew of tax hikes and spending cuts set to take effect in January 2013 unless Congress averts them.

Ironically, Moody's said one of the few ways the U.S. could maintain its current status, of triple-A with a "negative outlook," would be if Congress actually lets those tax hikes and spending cuts happen.

But even that doesn't guarantee a sterling credit score. Going over the "fiscal cliff" would help close the deficit, but the flip side is it could destabilize the economy. And Moody's said it would need evidence the economy could "rebound" before returning the U.S. rating to triple-A and "stable."

Boehner expressed doubt Tuesday that much of anything could be done to avert the tax hikes and spending cuts -- potentially good news for the budget, but bad news for the economy.

"I'm not confident at all," Boehner said.

The Ohio Republican reminded reporters that the House has passed legislation to both avoid the automatic, across-the-board cuts next year and to renew the Bush era tax rates for one year as well. Republicans warned of the impact of the impending cuts on the military and implored Senate Democrats to act to avoid them.

The Senate, however, has deadlocked over taxes and failed to address the across-the-board cuts, known as a sequester in Washington parlance.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
